A sports disability insurance policy can be crucial for athletes to protect their financial future—especially if their income depends heavily on their athletic performance.
In the event of sports disability, the insurance company pays out a previously agreed-upon lump sum and/or daily sickness allowance. This money can be used to pay ongoing living expenses or—if the athlete can no longer practice their profession—to bridge the financial gap during corresponding training or retraining.
Health insurance
Athletes in particular have an increased risk of injury, whether through training or competition. Good health insurance (or supplemental insurance) should cover accidents and sports injuries, including physical therapy and rehabilitation. Health insurance covers the costs of medical treatments and other health-related services.
