Brief introduction: Who are you? How old are you? What do you do at LEUE & NILL?
Hello, my name is Liam Schröder. I am 24 years old and started my apprenticeship as an insurance and financial investment specialist here at LEUE & NILL on August 1, 2024.
How did you like your first two days at LEUE & NILL?
I really liked these first two days because we started off slowly at first and the focus was more on getting to know each other a bit better. Team building activities, such as games and having lunch together, were particularly helpful with that.
From the signing of the contract until today, how did you find the process?
I liked the process from signing the contract to the start of the training program because you already had the opportunity to get to know some of the LuNAs in between – for example at the Christmas dinner or the company party.
What else do you expect from the Starter Week?
Generally, I still expect that during the rest of Starter Week we will be shown the basics we need to get started with our apprenticeship at the company. This means an introduction to the systems that are used, in order to get a basic understanding of them. The focus should also be on giving us LuNAs further opportunities to get to know each other better. An exchange of experiences with the other LuNAs who are already in their second or third year of apprenticeship would also be helpful, especially with tips for an optimal start to the apprenticeship and advice on what to watch out for at school and at the company.
What did you like best about the Starter Week so far?
What I liked most was the trip at the end of Starter Week. During it, we LuNAs spent a relaxed barbecue evening with an overnight stay, where we also had many funny moments together.
Why did you decide to do your apprenticeship at LEUE & NILL?
I was fortunate enough to previously work at LEUE & NILL as a working student (from Nov. 2021 to Jul. 2024), which allowed me to get to know the company better. Over the course of this work, I ultimately decided that I wanted to start an apprenticeship here as well.
What do you find special about LEUE & NILL?
Personally, I find it particularly special that at LEUE & NILL you are not just an „employee number.“ Instead, interpersonal relationships are the priority, which makes you feel well cared for right from the start.
What was different about the application process compared to other companies?
In my opinion, the application process generally took place in a very pleasant setting. At the beginning of the interview I was a little nervous, but that quickly subsided as I was able to have an open and casual conversation with Marco. Here, too, you can already tell that LEUE & NILL places great value on working together, which is why you immediately feel at home here.
Why did you decide that you want to complete an apprenticeship as an insurance and financial investment clerk?
At first, I couldn't do much with the topic of insurance; I knew they existed and that you needed them. But because I then started working in the insurance industry alongside my studies, I learned a lot about insurance over time and realized how versatile this industry actually is. And since I really enjoyed my work, an apprenticeship in this direction was the next logical step for me.
What are your expectations for the training?
What I generally expect from the training is that I will learn the theoretical and practical knowledge over the 3 years that will later be needed in the profession. It is also important to me that I receive support with questions and problems and get continuous feedback in order to be able to develop myself in the best possible way. „At the end of the day, however, what matters most to me is that I also enjoy the training.“
How did you like the company party?
I really enjoyed the company party because it was a great opportunity to get to know many of the LuNAs as well as some colleagues who have been with the company for a while.
