Short introduction: Who are you? How old are you? What do you do at LEUE & NILL?
Hello, my name is Liam Schröder. I am 24 years old and started my training as an insurance and financial investment specialist here at LEUE & NILL on 01.08.2024.
What did you think of your first two days at LEUE & NILL?
I liked these first two days because we started slowly and the focus was more on getting to know each other a little better. Team-building activities, such as games and lunch together, were particularly helpful.
From the signing of the contract to today, how did you find the process?
I liked the process from signing the contract to the start of the apprenticeship, because I was able to get to know some of the LuNAs in between - for example at the Christmas dinner or the company party.
What else do you expect from Starter Week?
In general, I still expect that we will be shown the basic things we need for the start of training in the company during the rest of the Starter Week. In other words, an introduction to the systems we work with to give us a basic understanding of them. The focus should also be on giving us LuNAs the opportunity to get to know each other better. An exchange of experiences with other LuNAs who are already in their second or third year of training would also be helpful, especially with tips for the best start to training and advice on what to look out for at school and in the company.
What do you like best about Starter Week so far?
What I enjoyed most was the excursion at the end of Starter Week. We LuNAs spent a relaxed barbecue evening with an overnight stay, where we also had lots of fun times together.
Why did you decide to do your apprenticeship at LEUE & NILL?
I was lucky enough to previously work at LEUE & NILL as a student trainee (from Nov. 2021 - Jul. 2024) and got to know the company better. In the course of this work, I finally decided that I wanted to start an apprenticeship here too.
What do you find special about LEUE & NILL?
I personally find that at LEUE & NILL you are not just an "employee number". Instead, the focus is on interpersonal relationships, which makes you feel that you are in good hands right from the start.
What was different about the application process compared to other companies?
In my opinion, the application process generally took place in a very pleasant environment. I was a bit nervous at the interview at first, but that quickly subsided as I was able to have an open and relaxed conversation with Marco. Here, too, you can tell that LEUE & NILL attaches great importance to working together and that you immediately feel comfortable here.
How did you come to want to train as an insurance and financial investment specialist?
At first I didn't know much about insurance, I knew that it existed and that you needed it. But because I started working in the insurance industry alongside my studies, I learned a lot about insurance over time and realized how diverse this industry actually is. And as I really enjoyed my job, training in this field was the next logical step for me.
What are your expectations of the apprenticeship?
What I generally expect from the apprenticeship is that I will learn the theoretical and practical knowledge over the three years that I will need later in my career. It's also important for me to be supported with questions and problems and to receive continuous feedback so that I can continue to develop in the best possible way. "At the end of the day, what matters to me is that I enjoy my training"
What did you think of the company party?
I really enjoyed the company party, as it gave us another opportunity to get to know many of the LuNAs as well as some colleagues who have already been with the company for a while.
