My name is Greta Walter and I am 21 years old. I successfully completed my apprenticeship in January 2024 and have been working in the Industrial Property Insurance department ever since.
How did you decide to do your apprenticeship at LEUE & NILL?
I worked as a student assistant at LEUE & NILL during the school vacations before I graduated from high school. I found my colleagues very nice and felt at home in the company. So I decided to start my apprenticeship after my A-levels.
How did your working week go?
I had part-time lessons, which meant that I was at vocational school on Tuesday mornings and Wednesdays and worked all day on Mondays, Tuesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays.
Do you have fond memories of your training at LEUE & NILL?
Yes, with great pleasure. Marco and Simon are a great team of training managers and I still get on very well with my fellow trainees to this day. During our training, we always took lunch breaks together when we were in the office at the same time.
What caused you the most problems at the beginning of your apprenticeship?
There were no real problems because we were introduced very well and taken by the hand. However, I found it difficult to make phone calls at the beginning because I was still a bit insecure at the time, especially because I didn't know much about the subject (and couldn't know anything). But that improved over time, especially thanks to the experience I gained during my training at LEUE & NILL.
A highlight moment in training
My first company party was definitely a highlight moment for me, because I talked a lot with colleagues outside of work and we all had a lot of fun in general.
Funniest moment in training
There were funny moments from time to time, but I can't tell you one exactly. But all in all, as I said, there were lots of funny moments.
How did things go for you after your apprenticeship?
In March 2024, shortly after completing my apprenticeship, I started the Fachwirt. It lasts 18 months, so I'll (hopefully) have the Fachwirt in my pocket next fall. After that, I'll either go to university or do the business administration course. That hasn't been decided yet.
Were your expectations met during the apprenticeship? Or what did you hope for before the apprenticeship?
I mainly hoped to come out of my shell more, to stop being so shy and to have the confidence to approach people. That worked really well, especially due to the constant change of department, which meant that I was always getting to know and work with new colleagues.
Are you still in contact with your former trainee colleagues? How was your relationship with the other trainees in general?
Yes, I'm still in contact with my former trainee colleagues. We had and still have a good relationship; I'm even doing the Fachwirt together with a former trainee colleague.
What was your relationship like with your training supervisors?
Very good and familiar. I could always go to Marco and Simon with personal problems that had nothing to do with work or training. I was always helped.
How do you like the atmosphere in our company?
Good, especially in my department I think the atmosphere is great because we all get on really well. I really appreciate that.
Did you find the apprenticeship stressful or did you feel stressed during your apprenticeship?
No, the training itself wasn't stressful at all. The time just before and during my final exams was stressful, but that's always the case.
