Our Starter Weeks 2025 – The Perfect Start to Life at LuNA

First impressions and new experiences

On August 1st, the time had finally come: our Starter Weeks at LEUE & NILL began! Naturally, we were all a bit excited when we met in the meeting room in the morning. But after the very first icebreaker games, the nervousness was gone. Especially during „Tabu,“ there was a lot of laughing and the atmosphere was instantly great. At noon, we headed to L’Osteria together with the LuNAs from the upper years, where we had our first conversations over delicious food and immediately felt truly welcome.

First impressions and new experiences

Over the next few days, everything revolved around settling into the company and getting to know the most important basics. We set up our laptops, completed our first online training sessions, and learned a lot about data protection, IT, and cybersecurity. Fortunately, IT was always quick to help out whenever something didn't work right away. We also thought the tips from the experienced LuNAs were especially cool; they really helped us get off to a good start.

Team spirit and discovery tour

A true highlight was our company rally, where we explored all the buildings, solved small tasks, and got to know many nice colleagues. This immediately showed us where our future departments are located. Afterward, the various LuNA projects were presented to us. From social media to trade fairs & buddies to the homepage, everything was included. Each of us quickly found the right team and could look directly forward to an exciting project.

Workshops, knowledge & lots of fun

In the second week, our workshops took center stage, and they were quite intense! We started with the business etiquette workshop, where we learned how important a professional demeanor is in everyday working life. Everything was covered, from greetings and email etiquette to outfit tips, and of course, we had plenty of fun along the way. Tuesday followed with the learning methods workshops, which gave us many helpful tips for vocational school and studying in general. It was especially nice that, despite the heat outside, we played short games and laughed a lot. In the evening, some of us went to play mini-golf together—it was a successful end to the day! The following Wednesday was themed „Fit for Life.“ During this session, we received further tips for the future and gave our own presentations, which we all really enjoyed. We also started with the Excel program, learning the initial basics. On Thursday, we continued with Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word. After all the practice exercises, we felt thoroughly prepared to start in our departments; no one felt like they were being thrown in at the deep end anymore.

A highlight to finish

At the end of the Starter Weeks, off we all went to Phantasialand! The ride there alone was full of anticipation. Once we arrived, roller coasters, adrenaline, and lots of laughter awaited us. In between, there was of course plenty of time to eat, chat, and collect memories together. Tired but super happy, we arrived back in Dortmund in the evening—it was an all-around successful finale!

Our conclusion

The Starter Weeks were the perfect introduction to professional life at LEUE & NILL for us. We learned a lot, made new friendships, and had a lot of fun. Now we are looking forward to getting started in our departments.
