The LuNA "Starter Week" (introductory week from 01.08. - 09.08.) 2024 was held under the motto "Have fun at the start". The purpose of the Starter Week is to give the new LuNAs time to get to know each other and find their way around the company. In addition, the new LuNAs get to know the LuNAs from the years above them in order to positively expand the LEUE & NILL family.
Thursday (01.08.2024) was the first day in the LEUE & NILL family for our new LuNAs. They were first warmly welcomed by the training managers and given a "surprise bag", and of course fun team-building games were played to create a relaxed and open atmosphere. However, the highlight of the day came at lunchtime, when the new LuNAs, the LuNAs from the higher training years and the training managers had lunch together at L'Osteria and were able to get to know each other even better in open discussions. After the lunch break, team-building games were played again to round off the first day in peace.
On Friday (02.08.2024), we continued with the laptops and the associated setup of the laptop, with the new LuNAs being actively supported by the IT department. Our trainees also learned about other important data protection guidelines, further training guidelines and cyber security topics. After the lunch break, the LuNAs from the higher training years passed on important tips to the new LuNAs to make their start in the department as easy as possible. Then it was an early start to the weekend.
On Monday (05.08.2024), the new LuNAs received further online training on data protection and occupational safety / compliance before continuing with a large company rally, in which the new LuNAs were guided through the entire building and solved puzzles. After the company rally, there was an introduction to the LuNA projects in a kind of "speed dating", after which everyone was assigned to a project team.
On Tuesday (06.08.2024), the new LuNAs spent most of their time with further online training and at lunchtime there was enough time for the photo shoots. There, the new LuNAs took individual and group photos and got to know the marketing team.
On Wednesday (07.08.2024) the first communication and telephone training was held, which was led by a training manager, followed by a small system training for our new LuNAs from the LuNAs from the higher training years. As we also want to constantly improve, there was a small feedback round. The final organizational details for the department launch were then clarified.
Thursday (08.08.2024) was dedicated to a large workplace organization and time management training, where our new LuNAs learned important information for the start of the department and working time management in general. There was also an instruction for the Microsoft Office programs.
However, the highlight of the week came in the afternoon, when we LuNAs from all year groups went to the "BaseCamp" in Bonn together with training manager Marco. Under the motto "TeamBuilding", we spent a wonderful evening there, where we laughed and played a lot. During the night, we slept in groups in camping trailers. The day was a complete success for everyone involved.
On Friday (09.08.2024), the whole group went on an exploratory tour of Bonn, starting with a visit to the Haus der Geschichte, where we were able to see some impressive things. Then we went into the city center of Bonn together to take a lunch break and eat something. After lunch we went back to Dortmund.
And so an all-round successful Starter Week came to an end, which was characterized by a lot of fun and commitment.
