Visit to the DKM 2023

This year, as in previous years, the LEUE & NILL trainees visited the DKM in Dortmund's Westfalenhallen.

But what is the DKM anyway?

Generally speaking, the DKM is the leading trade fair for the finance and insurance industry.

At this trade fair, globally represented as well as traditional companies, niche providers and start-ups present their products and services.

In addition, lectures are held, discussions are held and other great formats are presented at this trade fair. For this reason, the Cover Concept Fair, or DKM for short, is seen as a further training event for the finance and insurance industry. The trade fair is organized by bbg Betriebsberatungs GmbH and has been held in Dortmund since 1999. In addition, many exhibitors from a wide range of sectors, such as insurance companies, financial service providers, bank advisors and real estate agents, are on site, resulting in a diverse trade fair.

What did we do as trainees at the DKM?

As some of us had school on one of the two days, we were unfortunately unable to visit the DKM with all of our trainees at the same time, so we split up between the two days.

Now you get a little insight into the first day of the fair.

We met in front of the exhibition grounds at around 1:45 p.m. and then walked through the exhibition halls together.

After gathering our first impressions, we fortified ourselves with the drinks provided and had a snack.

We then went specifically to some of the stands that appealed to us the most and had some interesting conversations again this year.

Of course, we also met up with some familiar faces from previous years and were delighted to be able to exchange ideas with them every year.

We left the DKM at 5 p.m. with a wealth of additional knowledge and a few promotional gifts.

As in previous years, we were delighted to be part of the DKM again this year and it continues to be one of the highlights of the year.
