Wind power trainee project

The industrial divisions are an important part of LEUE & NILL. We trainees have the opportunity to go on exciting field service appointments or, for example, to take part in damage inspections.

There are also exciting projects that we are allowed to undertake. One project, for example, was accompanying the construction of a wind turbine, which we undertook in collaboration with the "Technical Insurance" department.

As this was purely a trainee project, we trainees were also allowed to take over the project management and take the project into our own hands. Some colleagues from TV (TV = Technical Insurance) gave us a lot of support and guidance, so we were never "left alone" with the project, but could always turn to our colleagues.

But first of all, what kind of project was it anyway?

A new wind power plant was erected in Oberense and since we at LEUE & NILL also deal with assembly insurance, among other things, we were allowed to accompany the construction and film it with drones. We were then able to use the film and the images for our project teams (homepage, social media and trade fair), for example.

The construction was followed and filmed from start to finish.

We also spoke a lot with the participants and the individual processes were explained to us. We were responsible for making sure that we didn't miss any important stages of construction. To this end, we were given time off from our departments to travel to the construction site two days a week and continue our project.

Flying the drone was a very exciting experience. This was new for some of us, but even inexperienced people quickly learned how to do it. With the help of the drones, we were able to take great pictures and videos and capture the construction of the wind turbine.

Overall, the project was a good experience for us trainees. It was fun to work in a team, to be responsible and to go out and experience construction up close.
