Starter Week 2024

The LuNA „Starter Week“ (introductory week from August 1st to August 9th) 2024 was entirely dedicated to the motto „Have a great start.“ The purpose of the Starter Week is to allow the new LuNA's to get to know each other at ease and find their way around the company. In addition, the new LuNA's get to know the LuNA's from the older years in order to positively expand the LEUE & NILL family.

On Thursday (08/01/2024) was the first day in the LEUE & NILL family for our new LuNAs. They were warmly welcomed by the training managers and generously gifted with a „surprise bag,“ and of course, fun team-building games were played to create a relaxed and open atmosphere. The highlight of the day, however, took place at lunchtime, when everyone—the new LuNAs, the LuNAs from the higher training years, and the training managers—ate together at L'Osteria, making it possible to get to know each other even better through open conversations. After the lunch break, more team-building games were played to wind down the first day in a relaxed manner.

On Friday (08/02/2024) things progressed with the laptops and the associated laptop setup, during which the IT department actively supported the new LuNAs. In addition, our trainees learned about other important data protection guidelines, further training policies, and cybersecurity topics. After the lunch break, the LuNAs from the upper training years passed on important tips to the new LuNAs to make the start in the department as easy as possible. Afterwards, it was an early start to the weekend.

On Monday (08/05/2024) were there additional online training sessions on data protection, occupational health and safety, and compliance for the new LuNA`s before a large company rally took place, during which the new LuNA`s were guided through all the buildings and solved puzzles. After the company rally, there was an introduction to the LuNA projects in a kind of „speed dating“ format, after which everyone was assigned to a project team.

On Tuesday (08/06/2024) the new LuNAs spent most of the time with further online training and at noon enough time was taken for the photo shoots. There, the new LuNAs took individual and group photos and got to know the marketing team.

On Wednesday (08/07/2024) then followed the first communication and telephone training, which was led by a training manager, after which there was a short system training session for our new LuNA's by the LuNA's from the higher training years. Since we also want to continuously improve, there was another short feedback session. Finally, the final organizational details for the department start were clarified.

Thursday (08/08/2024) was dedicated to a comprehensive workplace organization and time management training, during which our new LuNA's learned important information for starting in the department and about time management in general. Additionally, there was a briefing on Microsoft Office programs.

The highlight of the week followed in the afternoon, as we LuNA's from all year groups traveled together with the training manager Marco to the „BaseCamp“ in Bonn. Under the motto „TeamBuilding,“ a wonderful evening was spent there, with lots of laughter and games. At night, everyone slept in groups in camping trailers. For everyone involved, the day was a complete success.

On Friday (09.08.2024) then the entire group went on an exploration tour of Bonn, first visiting the House of History, where you could see impressive things. Afterwards, we went together to downtown Bonn to take a lunch break and get something to eat. After eating, we headed back to Dortmund.

Thus, an all-around successful Starter Week came to an end, which was characterized by a lot of fun and dedication.
