Visit to DKM 2023

Also this year, just like in previous years, we trainees from LEUE & NILL visited the DKM in the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund.

But what is the DKM anyway?

Generally speaking, the DKM is the leading trade fair for the financial and insurance industry.

At this trade fair, globally active companies as well as traditional businesses, niche providers, and start-ups present their products and services.

In addition, lectures are held, discussions are conducted, and other great formats are presented at this trade fair. For this reason, the Deckungskonzeptmesse, DKM for short, is regarded as a continuing education event for the financial and insurance industry. The trade fair is organized by bbg Betriebsberatungs GmbH and has been held in Dortmund since 1999. In addition, many exhibitors from a wide variety of sectors—such as insurance companies, financial service providers, bank advisors, and real estate agents—are on site, resulting in a diverse trade fair.

What did we do as apprentices at the DKM?

Since some of us had school on one of the two days, we unfortunately couldn't visit the DKM with all the trainees at the same time, so we split up across both days.

Now you get a small insight into the first day of the trade fair.

We met at around 1:45 PM in front of the exhibition grounds to then walk through the exhibition halls together.

After gathering our first impressions, we refreshed ourselves with the provided drinks and had a light snack.

Then we deliberately went to some of the booths that appealed to us the most and, once again this year, had some interesting conversations.

Of course, we also met several familiar faces from recent years again and were very pleased about the annual exchange.

At 5:00 PM, we left the DKM with a wealth of new knowledge and some promotional gifts.

Like in previous years, we were very pleased to be part of the DKM this year as well, and it continues to be one of the highlights of the year.
