Trainee Project Wind Power

An important part of LEUE & NILL are the industry divisions. We trainees have the opportunity to attend exciting field service appointments or, for example, to be present at claim inspections.

In addition, there are exciting projects that we are allowed to undertake. For example, one project was accompanying the construction of a wind turbine, which we undertook in cooperation with the „Technical Insurance“ department.

Since this was purely an apprentice project, we apprentices were also allowed to take over the project management and take the project into our own hands. Some colleagues from TV (TV = Technical Insurance) supported and accompanied us closely, so we were never „left alone“ with the project, but could always turn to colleagues.

First of all, though, what kind of project was that anyway?

A new wind turbine was erected in Oberense, and since we at LEUE & NILL also deal with erection all-risks insurance, among other things, we were allowed to accompany the construction and film it with drones. We were then allowed to use the film and the pictures for our project teams (homepage, social media, and trade fairs), for example.

The setup was tracked and filmed from start to finish.

In the process, we also spoke a lot with the contributors and had the individual procedures explained to us. Here, we were responsible ourselves for making sure that we did not miss any important stages of the construction. For this purpose, after consultation with our departments, we were released to go to the construction site two days a week and continue our project.

Flying the drone was a very exciting experience. For some of us this was new, but even as a beginner, you learned it quickly. With the help of the drones, we were able to take great pictures and videos and document the construction of the wind turbine very well.

Overall, the project was a great experience for us trainees. It was fun to work in a team, take on responsibility, and go out on-site to experience the construction firsthand.
